STARRY BEERY NIGHT

Tuesday, Aug. 5 is the annual league party and all-star game. The game and the partying will begin at 6 p.m. at Edgeley 8. Bring some beer, hang out, scarf up league-provided snacks and cheer on our red reps. Taking the field for the alliterative legions will be Julie Dugan, B.J. Clark, Brian Donlen, Tom Hickey and Mark Nevins. How did we ever lose?

I want to thank everyone who took part this season. We had nearly two dozen players crease the scorebook this year, and that means that not everyone got as much playing time as they might have liked. I wish there was an easy way to do this, but there isn't. Once again, I have offered my resignation to general manager Chris Brennan, but he's not responding. Thanks for being so understanding and supportive every game. I wish we had ended better, but, well, that's softball. Please try to come out an cheer on our All-Stars on Tuesday, Aug. 5 at Edgeley 8. It's a good time. Bring a chair and some beer and the league provides snacks! Beyond that, we are still trying to come up with a date for a cookout/intrasquad game in the next few weeks. Stay tuned. Otherwise, just get your running in.

EDGELEY OVAL -- Turn off Kelly Drive at Grant's Statue and proceed approximately 0.8 miles. Edgeley Oval is the set of fields on your left, just opposite Diamond St. The turn is Randolph Drive and the fields are numbered on the backstops.
DAIRY FIELDS -- Turn off Kelly Drive at Grant's Statue and proceed 0.2 miles to Mount Pleasant Drive. Turn left at the fields, which appear on a plateau above the road. Backstops are numbered.
BELMONT PLATEAU -- The entrance for us is between Belmont Ave. and West River Drive on Montgomery Ave. Fields are on the north side of Montgomery Ave. and our field, #4, is closest to the road.
